Transforming mental health in the Health & Wellbeing Industry.
A cross-industry movement to redefine workplace mental health support, thought leadership and practical action.
Rethinking how UK organisations support mental health.
The amii x JAAQ collaboration brings together leaders from across the health, wellbeing and insurance sectors to tackle one of the most pressing challenges facing UK organisations today: how to support the 7.8 million employees accessing health provision, with around 25% currently struggling with their mental health.
Following the Government’s Budget, which did not address the recommendations from the Mayfield Review, our industry is stepping forward. Together, we are shaping a united, evidence-based and practical response that places mental health and wellbeing at the centre of workplace support.
This initiative marks the beginning of a long-term movement. Through shared insight, collaboration and innovation, we aim to deliver solutions that create real, measurable impact.
Our mission.
We aim to reshape how mental health is understood, supported and delivered across our sector by:
- Creating actionable, audience-specific frameworks that go beyond describing the problem.
- Producing co-authored thought leadership informed by combined industry expertise.
- Building a consistent, cross-industry approach to the most significant mental health challenges.
- Driving progress even where government action is limited.
- Ensuring employers and providers have practical tools and measurable solutions to support their people.
Why this matters
The landscape of workplace wellbeing is shifting, and the need for clarity and practical guidance has never been greater.
- Thought leadership is often produced in isolation, limiting its impact.
- Organisations require clearer frameworks, better evidence and more coordinated guidance.
- Many employees continue to fall through gaps in mental health support.
- Despite the Mayfield Review’s findings, meaningful government intervention has not materialised.
The amii x JAAQ initiative ensures momentum does not stall. Instead, it brings together the collective expertise of providers, employers and industry bodies to co-create solutions that work in practice.
Who’s involved
The collaboration includes senior leaders from a broad range of organisations.

The work so far
Our initial roundtable brought together industry leaders to explore key mental health challenges and identify gaps in existing thought leadership.
Participants identified a number of recurring themes requiring coordinated action, spanning communication, culture and leadership, clarity of responsibilities, engagement, a shift from ROI to VOI (value on investment), and the practical delivery challenges that can limit real-world impact.
Our roadmap.
Immediate next steps
- Deeper analysis with ABI, GRID and vanguard employers.
- Review of the Mayfield Review and its implications for the sector.
- Consolidation of insight from the roundtable sessions.
February 2026
The group will reconvene to refine priorities, shape practical frameworks and agree the next phase of collective action.
Ongoing development
- Creation of practical, co-authored frameworks and guidance.
- Joint research and sector-wide consultation.
- Continued PR and communications activity.
- Regular updates as the initiative evolves.
What’s coming next
This campaign is designed to grow over time, and future developments will include the following.
- Co-authored publications and actionable toolkits.
- Shared research projects and member insight reports.
- Further roundtables and stakeholder engagements.
- Development of a cross-industry wellbeing “standard”.
- New resources, articles and case studies for employers and providers.
